Privacy Policy

Overview

Band Together (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides tools for organizing bands, musicians, crew, and gigs. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated when you use the Service:

  • Account information such as name, email address, phone number (if provided), password (stored as a hash), profile picture, and email verification status.
  • Band and gig content you create or share, including bands, members, invitations, gigs, venues, contacts, messages, calendars, and availability/block-outs.
  • Support requests you submit (including contact email, category, subject, and message).
  • Technical and usage data needed to operate the Service, such as session cookies, push notification subscription details (if you enable notifications), and diagnostic information from error monitoring tools.
  • First-party page visit analytics, including page path, approximate visit time, optional signed-in user id, an anonymous browser session identifier, and referrer information when available.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Authenticate you, manage sessions, and protect accounts (including lockout after failed login attempts).
  • Send transactional email such as invitations, email verification, password reset, and service notifications.
  • Send push notifications you have enabled.
  • Respond to support requests.
  • Monitor reliability and diagnose errors.
  • Understand how pages of the Service are used so we can improve navigation and features.
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use httpOnly cookies to keep you signed in (for example, a session token). When a platform operator is temporarily accessing an account for support, additional cookies may identify the impersonation session so we can show a clear “viewing as” banner and end the session cleanly.

We may store a short-lived anonymous identifier in the browser (for example in sessionStorage) so we can estimate unique visits. This is first-party analytics only.

We do not use these cookies for third-party advertising.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service:

  • With other users you interact with through the Service (for example, band members, managers, and gig participants who can see shared band/gig content and messages).
  • With service providers that help us operate the Service (such as hosting, email delivery, and error monitoring), under obligations to protect the information.
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the Service.
  • In connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), subject to appropriate safeguards.

Support access during beta

While Band Together is in beta, designated platform operators may temporarily access your account to troubleshoot problems you report or that we detect. Access is for support purposes, is logged, and is intended to be time-limited. Operators see a clear indication that they are viewing the Service as you.

If you have questions about support access, contact us using the email below.

Retention and deletion

We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You may cancel your account through the in-app cancel-account flow. Cancellation is intended to stop normal use of the account; some records (such as audit or legal retention data) may remain as required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

You can update much of your profile information in the app. You can disable push notifications in your device or app settings where available.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Service

Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Band Together (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Beta service

The Service is currently offered as a beta. Features may change, break, or be discontinued. We may modify or suspend parts of the Service without notice. You use the beta Service understanding that it may be incomplete or unreliable compared with a finished product.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Some features require a verified email address. We may limit functionality until verification is complete.

Managers and members have different capabilities within the Service (for example, creating bands and gigs versus participating after invitation). You agree to use only the access and features available to your role.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
  • Harass, spam, or infringe the rights of others.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service.
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
  • Upload malware or otherwise compromise security.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as band and gig details and messages). You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display that content as needed to operate and improve the Service and to make it available to users you share it with.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit content and that doing so does not violate others’ rights or applicable law.

Support access

During beta, designated platform operators may temporarily access accounts for troubleshooting, as described in the Privacy Policy. Access is logged. You agree that such support access is permitted under these Terms.

Third-party services

The Service may rely on third-party infrastructure (for example hosting, email, or monitoring). We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control, except as required by law.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your account at any time through available account controls.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if needed to protect the Service or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. We may also delete or disable accounts that remain inactive for an extended period, where permitted.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to applicable law, you agree that courts located in New Jersey have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service.
